As a guitar player, I love guitars. I love great guitars. I also love getting a great deal on a great guitar-- And that is exactly what I did with my most recent purchase: The 425th Paul Reed Smith Santana SE.
As a note on it's introduction, the serial number on this guitar is 00425. The PRS SE line was first produced in the late 1990's and this was one of the first of them all! As you can see, the guitar is finished in a fantastic transparent green color that reveals the natural woodgrain of the solid mahogany body and neck. The 22-fret fretboard is rosewood inlaid with pearloid "diagonal parallelograms." Two stock SE pickups (the bridge pickup is reversed... but not for long) are controlled by one volume knob, one tone knob, and a 3-way pickup selector. The bridge is a 6-point PRS-designed tremolo system that was installed with aftermarket Graph Tech Saddles. Additionally, the previous (and only) owner of the guitar installed Sperzel Locking Tuners
. This guitar was purchased on Craigslist for just $310 shipped from Texas to Arizona.
I had been searching for this exact guitar (green, trem, no pickguard) for quite awhile, and when I came across an ad with the guitar at such a great price, I had to jump on the opportunity. The previous owner was gracious enough to ship the guitar to me and now I am preparing this green machine to create and perform music in the near future. If you're looking for one like mine, check eBay, Craigslist, Guitar Center Used, and used-gear classified sections of various music-related forums like Harmony Central. Don't pay more than $350-$400 for the guitar because you can and will find one for under $300 if you look hard enough.
